Love Jozi, in association with Gauteng Tourism, is calling on Gauteng's photographers, illustrators, artists and designers to submit their best work for inclusion in A Postcard A Day from Gauteng, a new free mobile app launching on 27 September 2011 (World Tourism day). This is a platform that celebrates how you see the province you call home, and it’s an opportunity to have your work seen and shared by thousands of people.

HOW IT WORKS
Every day for a year, subscribers will receive a free picture “postcard” (with a short quote from the artist on the back) on their phone or tablet, showcasing the best photography, illustration, art and design in the province. The app will work on iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Android platforms.

WHAT WE WANT
Images that capture the many shapes, faces colours and sights of Gauteng – and we mean the whole province from the Vaal river in the south, to north of Pretoria. You can submit a photograph, an illustration, design, typography, whatever your medium. There’s no set brief – just keep in mind that it’s a postcard so we’d prefer landscape format (but we’re willing to make exceptions). Also, nothing that’s mean, obscene or somebody else’s work. Unfortunately we are not able to accept Instagram pictures because the size and resolution won’t fit our format. Please see technical requirements on the right.

COPYRIGHT
You will retain copyright on any and all images you allow us to use – you’ll simply grant permission for it to be used (and shared) as part of this app.
